Hamsters - What else?
Corona times weren't (still aren't) easy for the most of us and to survive these and "stay sane" at the same time I started sketching again - for cathartic reasons.
I commented on every new development with a little hamster pic: noodles, toilet paper, masks, the popular German "Hamsterkäufe"...
Initially it seemed to be a temporary project, but well,... it took on a life of its own. Even the looks of the little guys changed in time and they developed a distincitve design.
And then?...
...I kept going, continued sketching hamsters, found new themes and subjects, created little stories, animated them here and there, the consequence being that the sketches mount up splendidly. I later called them Fellvolk® (like "furr + folk").
Sometimes I'm less productive, because my main job makes its presence felt, but the little ones prove incredibly team-minded and patient with me.
So it's time to reward them and let them have some "outdoor adventures".
Where can you meet the Fellvolk®?
Here on my website I just show a limited selection of the tiny hamsters among other illustrations. If you want to meet them all, you may visit them on their Instagram Account @fellvolk and drop a "like" or follow their daily adventures. But hurry - They grow up so fast^^.
I post pictures on a regular, almost daily, basis, new stuff but also remastered pics, sometimes short animations or older originals and hope to find more hamsterfans out there that way.
